Gina Villa

The Story

In 2019, Gina Villa was working as a shift lead at Nulite Lighting Inc. when financial challenges prompted her to get creative. To make extra money, she began preparing and selling burritos to her coworkers. However, in 2020, Gina was diagnosed with COVID-19 and pneumonia in both lungs, which forced her to leave her job and focus on her health. During this time, Gina sought alternative ways to support herself financially.

In May 2020, after Angel, Gina's daughter, posted pictures of their homemade meals on Snapchat, they began receiving requests for food. Recognizing the growing demand, Gina and Angel decided to turn this passion into a business, launching "Gina’s Tacos." As word spread, more and more orders came in, prompting Gina to pursue her food business full-time and leave traditional employment behind.

As the business expanded to include catering for events like weddings and birthdays, Gina felt it was important to honor the woman who had inspired her journey. In tribute to her mother, Maria, Gina rebranded the business to "Villa's Kitchen."

Today, Villa's Kitchen continues to thrive, and Gina’s success is a reflection of her hard work, determination, and the unwavering support of her community. Thank you for being a part of Gina's journey and for your continued love and support of Villa’s Kitchen.
